10 months old!

July 25th was Caleb's 10 month birthday! He celebrated the day by saying goodbye to his mommy for the first time. I went on a youth mission trip to Daytona Beach for 5 days. It was an amazing trip but incredibly hard to be away. Ben and Caleb got a chance to have "guy time" and Ben did a great job as a single dad! I came home on Friday and Ben left to work in Iowa on Saturday morning. We will both be relieved to be reunited in Iowa for some great time with family.
A 10 month update....Caleb is crawling around the house and exploring everything. He can pull himself up to his feet and wants to walk! He doesn't quite get it that he has to hang on and often falls straight backwards. He is getting how to do it more and more. He is such a joy! He is an easy laugh which is good for us. He is eating a lot of finger foods and enjoys every minute of it! He loves to babble and make noises that make us laugh. He is one fun kiddo! Here of some pictures of our 10 month old. Thanks for the shirt Aunt Barbara! It says, " My dad's tattoos are cooler than yours!" So funny.

Grandma's Visit, Happy 4th of July, and the First Crawl!

We have had a lot going on in the Porter house lately! We had a great visit from Grandma Skipton, celebrated Caleb's first 4th of July, and saw some of Caleb's firsts! His first tooth came in and he crawled for the first time. There are a lot of pictures on this post because Grandma is a paparazzi! We loved having her here to say the least.

Happy 4th of July!

We visited the State Capital for the celebration

Here is a video of Caleb talking...so cute!

On July 5th, in honor of our country's independence, Caleb crawled for the first time! We were a little shocked because he was not getting up on his knees or scooting or really moving at all. He just pulled it out of left field! Somehow we caught it on video!
