Caleb turns 3!

Our little boy is 3!  I love looking at this little baby picture of him.  Caleb has become a smart, funny 3 year old.  He loves to sing, play in the dirt (all day, every day), learn (he loves going to library to check out book about construction and animals), and giggles like crazy at his own jokes.  The other day at dinner he told a story.  Here is what it said, "Once upon a time, there was a boy and girl.  They were best friends.  The boy had a great idea.  He got a fish book.  The end." Ben and I laughed so hard at his little story and his creativty.  He is such a joy in our lives!
Ben spent many hours (maybe 8?) making this amazing excavator cake for Caleb's birthday.  It is based off of Caleb's favorite toy, his John Deere excavator.

Ben working hard on the cake.  It was worth it.
 Singing Happy Birthday

Caleb got lots of great gifts!  He got construction trucks, dinosaurs, and some games.

Our first apple picking trip

We had such a fun fall day!  We went to Stone's Apple Barn to pick some yummy apples.  Grandma and Papap joined us.  We got to ride a hay ride---bonus!  It was a beautiful day and we had a blast!
Riding the hay ride with Grandma.

Dillon was riding in the front carrier.  A 20 lb baby is not so easy to carry!
Caleb said we were picking apples like Adam and Eve...
Caleb tried every apple he picked.  We think he finished close to 3 full apples.

 Dillon loved some apple!
An Iowa photo :)

A new tradition

We took Caleb to the Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey circus over Labor Day weekend.  We all loved it so much.  I think we will try to go every year!  Caleb was fascinated the whole time.  It was fascinating for all of us!
 A serious circus face :)
Caleb's favorite part was the elephants.

Dillon turns 7 months!

1st Day of Preschool

August 29th was Caleb's first day of preschool!  He was so excited to go.  While we were getting ready to go by using the potty (he is potty trained now!!!) Caleb grabbed my face and said, "I love you Mommy!" He is in a 2 year old program but is one of the oldest kiddos.  He loves his teacher, Mrs. Nickles.  Can't believe my baby is in school!

Dirt!

Caleb is a magnet to dirt!  He would spend all day just digging in the dirt.  Every place we go he examines the dirt to see if it is good for digging.  He "lays the pipeline, digs trenches, builds apartment buildings, and loads up the dumptruck."

Love that smile!

A singing boy

Caleb loves to sing!  He repeats songs on the radio that we didn't even know he was paying attention to.  He loves singing ABC's, My Bonnie Lays Over the Ocean, and Happy Birthday.  The song I love the most is  "Jesus Loves Me."  Everytime he responds "Yes" to a question, he will continue with "Yes, Jesus loves me the Bible tells me so!"  I love his spirit!

6 Months!

Happy 6 months Dillon!  We can't believe it has already been 6 months since he has come into our lives!  I know I say we can't believe how old are kids are a lot but these 6 months really flew by!  Dillon loves to laugh and is one busy little boy.  He has go-go gadget arms and is always looking for things to get into.  He has thighs like we have never seen ;)  Dillon loves his baths and usually splashes and giggles all the way through them.  He is very content just sitting on the floor with his toys.  He is truly a joy!  His 6 month stats are 20 lb 8 oz and 27 inches tall.  He is in the 91st percentile for weight and 78th for height.  We love every bit of him!

Summer days

This summer has been SO hot!  It feels like we are still in NC.  We have had to be a little creative with things to keep the kids busy inside.  Dillon loves his jumper and Caleb loves to fix it!

A Davenport Tradition

The Bix!  Caleb ran the Jr. Bix for his 2nd year.  He has mastered the 70 yards!  Ben rocked the Bix this year and broke his time again.
 Stretching before Caleb's big race

Dillon was not having fun waiting for the race to start.
 A treat after the race!

Bad picture but Ben is coming in the blue shirt.  So proud of him!
